What WAKE Builds for Athletes — Cody Matechuk World Record as the Proof of Model
This release was issued as part of the WAKE × Thrill Sports U.S. Launch story. It reflects how Wake described this event at the time. The story has since been updated — see the current editorial coverage at the link below.
WAKE Alphatropics built its U.S. launch around one athlete, one world record, and a content partnership that puts the work in front of the Thrill Sports network's audience. Cody Matechuk broke his own snowbike cliff base jump record in Golden, British Columbia — 450 feet at nearly 50 mph — while WAKE and Thrill Sports captured and produced the content.
That content distributes across the Thrill Sports network: Nitro Circus, Street League Skateboarding, and Power Slap. This is what WAKE means by investing in athletes: premium production, record-setting moments, and distribution built into the deal from day one — not a logo placement.
